AirAsia Philippines stated Wednesday that they are expanding their flight frequencies to three Asean nations starting September 17 as it reopens additional routes amid more relaxed travel standards, according to a report by Philippine News Agency.

Flights between Manila and Bangkok, Thailand; Denpasar, Indonesia; and Kota Kinabalu and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia will increase from three to seven times each week.

"Our objective is to reinforce important Asian countries that now have more relaxed travel procedures, and these markets are also chosen by Filipino travelers based on 30-90-day ahead bookings," business representative Steve Dailisan told the Philippine News Agency.

Once market circumstances improve, the airline will continue to reopen and strengthen connections in all of its foreign locations, he added.

Dailisan stated that despite the threat of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) and the viral illness monkeypox, AirAsia is optimistic about travel demand.

"AirAsia maintains its tight execution of multi-layered safety procedures, emphasizing contactless touchpoints in the consumer experience," he added".

Dailisan added that after more than two years of the worldwide health crisis, their visitors have actively adopted the culture of safety by complying with minimal health requirements such as regular hand washing and sanitizing and the usage of face masks during the trip, among other things.

Meanwhile, AirAsia advises travelers to arrive at the airport at least four hours before their flight time to prevent traffic congestion in the area.

They are also urged to stay up to speed on the newest developments.

This will ensure people from every country in Asia will have the chance to tour, explore and visit coutries with ease, more opportunities for business and expand foreign relations.
